Scope and Content
The materials in FOIA 2014-0125-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials.
FOIA 2014-0125-F contains records related to Lance Armstrong, including correspondence and records of visits and phone conversations with Lance Armstrong. This FOIA primarily contains records of meetings, events, correspondence, and phone calls. The majority of textual records consist of brief and narrative schedules, briefing papers, participants' lists, remarks, advance materials, planning forms, and other routine preparatory materials for meetings, White House dinners, and cancer awareness events attended by Lance Armstrong and President George W. Bush. Records of correspondence between Lance Armstrong and President George W. Bush consist of drafts and final copies of congratulatory letters on the Tour de France and thank you letters. There are briefing papers and notes for congratulatory phone calls from President George W. Bush to Lance Armstrong. Electronic records consist of emails relating to phone calls, meetings, and events with Lance Armstrong as well as emails sent and received by Lance Armstrong. Additionally, records include scheduling requests and briefing papers relating to congratulatory phone calls, and drafts and final copies of routine preparatory materials for meetings and events, most of which is duplicative of the textual records described above. Also included are visitor entry log records of visits to the White House by Lance Armstrong.
