Finding Aid

Scope and Content

The materials in FOIA 2017-0109-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of records responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult an archivist about related materials.

FOIA 2017-0109-F requested materials related to the Bush administration’s influence on combating terrorism through film and television, dated September 11, 2001 – January 31, 2002.

The textual portion of this FOIA primarily contains seating arrangements from a cabinet meeting, lists of attendees of routine meetings, routine schedules, call logs, letters to business leaders and the general public from Chris Henick, printed webpages about Hollywood’s actions post September 11, administrative printed emails, and a briefing paper on an event related to the economy. The electronic portion of this FOIA consists of emails, schedule proposals, compilations of news articles, and briefing papers. The majority of emails include the text of various news articles describing several meetings between Karl Rove and Hollywood screenwriters and producers. Also included are emails requesting comment on said articles. Briefing papers and scheduling proposals describe a meeting between President George W. Bush and Lionel Chetwynd.
