This FOIA primarily contains resumes, routine memoranda to the president regarding personnel appointments (including Cox’s appointment), appointee information forms, printed news articles, printed emails, weather reports, letters to the president, fax cover sheets, and drafts of President Bush’s speech regarding his intention to nominate Cox as the Chairman of the SEC on June 2, 2005. Electronic records consist of speech drafts, transcripts, statements, press gaggles, background information, scheduling information, articles, newsletters, and routine personnel selection memoranda. Also present in the electronic records are drafts of President George W. Bush’s speech announcing his intention to nominate Christopher Cox as the Chairman of the SEC on June 2, 2005, as well as Christopher Cox’s statement on that date. Additionally, there are requests from reporters, background information on Christopher Cox, media activity reports, information regarding scheduling meetings and phone calls, statements from organizations about the nomination, final drafts of Christopher Cox’s opening statement and transcripts from the confirmation hearing, and routine personnel selection memoranda regarding Christopher Cox’s nomination.
