9/11: The Steel of American Resolve

The 9/11 terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and changed the world as we knew it.  President George W. Bush led the national response in the uncertain days after the attacks, comforted a grieving nation, and demonstrated to the world the strength of American resolve. This online exhibit features a selection of photographs, videos, artifacts, and documents.

Dining & Diplomacy

Presidents have long used social events to foster diplomatic ties. The menus and photographs selected for the Dining and Diplomacy online exhibit illustrate the wide range of diplomatic and social events hosted by President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at the White House, Camp David, and Prairie Chapel Ranch. Because of the important and unique role the First Lady plays in these social events, each menu card is accompanied by a quote from Laura Bush's memoir, Spoken from the Heart.

All Creatures Great and Small: Christmas at the White House 2002

In the spring of 2002, President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush chose All Creatures Great and Small as that year’s Christmas theme celebrating the joy and comfort pets have brought Presidents and their families over the years. This online exhibit shares photographs and artifacts from the White House display. All Creatures Great and Small emphasized the importance of family and friends – even furry ones.
